EMMETT:
On October 9th, 2011, we found out that we were expecting the second addition to our family. Luckily, my pregnancy with him was quite smooth, other than the fact that I dilated and effaced very early. My water broke prematurely on May 6th, 2012, when I was just about 35 weeks pregnant. At 10:52pm, Emmett Sullivan came into this world- weighing in at 6 lbs 9 oz despite being 5 weeks early!ELLIOT:
On July 17th, 2010, the day before my husband left for South Korea, we received the devastating news that our baby had an abdominal wall birth defect. It was a difficult pregnancy filled with many prayers- I battled dangerously low amniotic fluid, inuterine growth restriction, and pre-term labor. I was eventually put on bed rest, and I spent that time praying, hoping, writing, and reading while my husband was on the other side of the world. After 16 hours of labor, the day after my husband returned from Korea on emergency family leave, I gave birth to a 6 lb 3 oz baby boy, who we named Elliot Reid, at 10:08am on December 16th, 2010. He was in the NICU for 6.5 weeks, where he had surgery to close up his abdomen and struggled to learn how to eat after being fed through an IV and then a tube for the first several weeks of his life. He came home with us and my husband had to return to Korea the day after. Thankfully, Elliot is now a healthy and happy two year old, with very little holding him back. He is still small for his age, but he's growing and thriving- that's all that really matters ♥.
