13 weeks! :)

13 weeks!
"Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.)"

How far along? 13 weeks
Baby’s Size: a peach! holy moly!
Total Weight Gain: about four pounds now
Gender: we're hoping pink :) but I'm feeling blue!
Sleep: Still waking up several times a night. Trying to adjust to sleeping on my left side- but I always wake up on my back.
Symptoms: Feeling much better! Nothing to complain about.
Best Moments this week: Telling my mom that we're pregnant and getting to spend time at home with my best friend Shannon.
Food Cravings: none really.
Food Aversions: greasy food and I aren't really getting along. Of course, all of the fast food we had to eat on vacation probably didn't help.
What I miss: Jumping on the trampoline with my brothers. Oh, and hot tubs!
What I am Looking forward to: Fitting into maternity pants- none of mine fit anymore. And, next week I'll be in the second trimester!
Milestones: We told both of my parents within this last week and a half. :) Which was great. It was the hardest secret to keep!

I realize this is ALREADY old even as I post it, but oh well. Here is my 12 week belly picture, taken while I was on vacation. I think the bump is bigger now. I'll take a new one asap!

  1. Hey Jess!! So glad that you are back and posting. I can't wait to hear all about your pregnancy. As far as pants go, I highly recommend buying a BeBand. That way you don't have to buy maternity pants. Not only are most of them very ugly, but they are extremely expensive! I'm already 7 months and have not bought any maternity clothes. I just wear dresses and skirts with stretch waist bands. That is my little bit of advice to you. Glad you and baby are doing well.
