Day Eleven.

Elliot was great today! He weighed 6 lbs 1 oz today, which is almost back up to his birth weight. He spent most of the time asleep... so content and peaceful. The noises and faces he makes while he's sleeping are adorable!
We got to hold him for a long time... once he eventually woke up. The nurse {understandably} didn't want us to wake him up, so we had to wait forever for him to wake up on his own. Let me tell you, that kid knows how to sleep! He sleeps right through all the noise in the NICU. He definitely didn't get that from me. I'm an extremely light sleeper, but Aaron could sleep through anything.
He should be able to start feedings, kangaroo care, and wearing clothes by the end of this week :) I can't wait. I think he'll be one happy little guy!

  1. So happy to hear this! It sounds like Elliot is a strong little guy and doing amazingly well. What a great Christmas gift!

  2. Hi! I have been reading your blog for awhile, and I love hearing about little Elliot. I just had a question-what is kangaroo care?

  3. Go you!

    He is freaking adorable!

I am so happy to see you guys happy & enjoying an increasingly healthy little baby boy!

    Merry Christmas Elliott!

  4. Brandy- kangaroo care is basically when the parents of a NICU baby hold their baby skin-to-skin, with no clothing in the way. It is an amazing bonding experience and also helps the baby with weight gain, respiration, body temperature, and more. :)

  5. What a little trooper. Hooray!

  6. I'm really happy that he's doing so well!

  7. wooooooo!!! Jess this is soo sooo soooo exciting!

  8. Wow, Elliot is really making a lot of nice progress and it's awesome you have been able to hold your son!! So, what's the "plan" for him now. Will he need more surgery?
He is adorable!! What a sweet little miracle :)

  9. I have been reading your blog for a week or so, read back so I could get caught up on everything. You parents are doing great and God has blessed you. I have been praying for little Elliot and for the doctors and nurses that are caring for him. He is a special little baby. God Bless!
